The Lady Panthers were also plagued by a slow start in the first half of the district season, but have battled back into playoff contention after posting a 3-1 record in their last four matches
That puts Colleyville Heritage at 6-5 and tied for third with three other teams as the regular season draws to a close this week.
The Lady Panthers have lost only once in their last six outings, dropping a 3-1 decision to Southlake Carroll on Oct. 6.
"We started out rough just because we were trying to get everybody healthy" Lady Panthers coach Libby Torres. "Right now, I think we're playing really well at a crucial time of the year. We've gotten everybody back and we've been able to finally get chemistry on the court where we're playing really well."
Senior outside hitter Jordan Jesberg and senior setter Evoni Darling have been team leaders for CHHS this year, playing pivotal roles in last Friday's 25-18, 25-19, 25-22 win over Keller Central.
The victory lifted CHHS to 31-13 for the year, but more importantly for Lady Panther fans, dropped Central to 6-5 and into a four-way deadlock along with Grapevine and Justin Northwest.
"A lot rides on this week's games," Torres said. "We're all really close right now, and there are some tiebreakers that would come into play. But, like I said, I think we're playing really well right now."
CHHS travels to Haltom tonight before hosting Richland in the district finale for both teams next Tuesday.
Start time for both games is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
