Parent's Guide to Project Graduation

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Project Graduation?
Project Graduation is an all-night lock-in, exclusively for all graduating seniors. CHHS Senior Class parents sponsor and supervise the event which is held on of the night of graduation. Students will be responsible for transportation to and from the Project Graduation location. Check-in is between 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. and students will be released between 5:00 a.m. The students are provided with lots of food, games, entertainment during the event.

Why Project Graduation?
Statistically one of the most deadly nights for teenagers is Graduation night. By keeping our graduates together on this night we can help our students celebrate in a safe and controlled environment. The party is drug-, alcohol- and tobacco-free and well supervised.

How much does Project Graduation Cost?
Our goal is to make this a low-cost (and hopefully, no-cost) event for the seniors, provided we raise enough funds to meet the event’s costs.

How do I sign my senior up.?
Everyone needs to complete a Student Contract. Contracts will be sent home with students later in the fall. Click here to download a copy of the contract.

Contracts must be signed and any payment due sent to the front office or mailed directly to: Project Graduation, P.O. Box 431, Colleyville, TX 76034

What if my student leaves early?
This is an all-night lock-in, there will be no chance of leaving early, unless a parent picks up the student early. The parent must check out the student if he/she is being picked up early. Otherwise, for the safety of the students, everyone is expected to stay.

How can I help? Parents can help in several ways:

  • Register your senior early for the event and turn in a completed student contract form! Both student and parent must sign the student contract. Contracts must be submitted with payment no later than May 23, 2008. Click here to download a copy of the contract.
  • Volunteer to help! In addition to the numerous volunteers needed the night of the Project Graduation, we also need parents to help plan and organize the event. You can volunteer by sending an email to Judy Atwood (atwoodj@swbell.net).

Note to Junior Parents:

We encourage parents of the junior class to get involved now, so you know what to do when it is your turn. It's up to you to improve on what we do this year. Check out the contact page on the website for job opportunities.
