Dear Parents:

I hope you and your families have enjoyed this wonderful Spring Break. We welcome our students back today, Tuesday, March 25, in anticipation for another busy spring. We have a few "Spring Cleaning" items that we'd like to present to you as we all return from the break.

1. We'd like to make sure all parents are aware of Extended day tutoring opportunities that are available at no cost to families from 4 - 5 pm every Monday through Thursday in the library. We are staffing this tutorial session with one math, one science and one other teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for students to complete make-up work, take tests/quizzes at a time that might not be convenient to the teacher of record, or just get that extra help in completing homework. Not many students are taking advantage of this opportunity, so we hope a conversation at home would improve attendance!

2. Our second annual Panther Pride Night will be hosted in the competition gym this Thursday, March 27 at 6:30 pm. Help us as a community to recognize the outstanding contributions of our spring sports, Special Olympians, and other students who make CHHS a great place to be! Immediately following the Panther Pride Night, our counselors will host an information meeting about Dual Enrollment opportunities for our students next year. We encourage all parents to attend this community pep rally and informative meeting about dual enrollment (college credit and high school credit courses at the same time).

3. As you prepare closets for the spring fashions, please remember to adhere to the district dress code with respect to lengths on shorts/skirts, sleeve expectations (outside edge of the sleeve touches outside edge of shoulder -- no tank tops or spaghetti straps), hair grooming, and inappropriate advertising on clothing. Click here for the entire dress code.  Our suggestion to students is that if they think it might be a problem, don't wear it. We appreciate your help in maximizing instructional time by eliminating dress code issues.

4. If you have not yet signed up for Skyward on-line grade and attendance access, it's not too late! Stop by the attendance office and they will get you started. We will provide more information on Skyward access for next year in the next PTSA newsletter.

5. If you or your child are aware of criminal activity, please remember that Crimestoppers has on online report system and a phone system for anonymous reporting of crimes in our area. That web address is www.469tips.com and the phone number is 817.469.TIPS. We hope you will find this helpful in keeping our community and CHHS safe.

We hope you are ready for another busy Spring here at CHHS!
