| Education: | Graduated from University of North Texas in 2002 BA History, cum laude 1999-2002 National Dean’s List 1999-2002 President List University of North Texas |
| Background: | This is my fifth year teaching Social Studies at Colleyville Heritage High School. Prior to working for the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.. While I was a student at the University of North Texas, I volunteered as a tutor in the areas of astronomy, biology, history, political science, and archeology.
I have accumulated over 30 hours of G/T training, 1322 hours of Pre-AP training at the College Board Summer Academy® at Texas Christian University, and 160 hours of training in the areas of Multiple Intelligences, Work Styles, Classroom Management through an accredited certification program. I enjoy bringing fresh ideas into my classroom so that I can reach each student more effectively . |
| Educational Philosophy: | I place a high value on personal excellence and I believe that every student should be challenged to strive for his or her personal best. The study of History and World Geography provides an excellent way in which to connect our young people to their world. It is my goal to bring understanding of our complex world into terms that the students can understand, while at the same time encouraging them to use their own knowledge to form their own conclusions. I am an active and interactive educator who strives to give each student one-on-one attention whenever possible.

| Personal Statement: | My husband, children, and I moved to the great state of Texas in 1997 from Kenosha Wisconsin. When asked about how I like Texas summers I always reply that I will take 100º summers over –40º winters anytime!! I am the mother of three school- age children who are the joy of my life. I find peace and serenity tending to my Koi pond and my other animals. When given the opportunity, I like to visit historical sites |
