Background: |
I am entering my 10th year of teaching Social Studies at the high school level.
My teaching experience includes the following courses: Geography, Pre-AP Geography, World
History, Pre-AP World History, AP World History US History, Pre-AP US History, AP US History,
Mock Trials, as well as Advanced Government. I have also had the pleasure to be the advisor
for several wonderful organizations including; National Honor Society, Peers(a student mentor
group) and Student Safety on the Move(an anti-drug and alcohol student group). In addition I
have concurrently coached multiple sports at the Varsity level. With any remaining free time
… I share outdoor experiences with my wife of 12 years, Elsa. We have been fortunate enough
to share the same joys and goals throughout our life together. Our lives changed dramatically
for the better two years ago with the birth of our first child, Jacob Ethan. |

Educational Philosophy: |
We live in a diverse and rapidly changing environment. In order to be successful, one must be equipped with the ability to handle the uncertainty and ambiguity that is our future. I strongly feel that it is my job, as an educator, to equip my students with that ability. With an understanding of the critical elements of the past and an open mind towards the differing perspectives that make up this tumultuous world, we may march confidently into that future. Every young person that walks through our doors brings something unique and useful for the betterment of our community. We must recognize and nurture it for what it is; our future. |
