Background:

My teaching career began when I was a young child. I played school with anyone who was willing and often some that were not. It has always been my passion. I graduated from UTA in December of 1986 and then did my student teaching at L.D. Bell High School in the spring of 1987. Even with the trials and tribulations of student teaching, I knew I had found the right profession. I have been with GCISD since the fall of 1987. (Yes, that’s right, fifteen years!!!) I helped open CHHS in 1996 and this will be my seventh year here. I never fail to get excited about the start of a new school year!

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe every one of my students is gifted. It may or may not be in mathematics, but I know they all have special gifts. It is my goal to tap into those gifts in some way. I believe learning is a life long process, not an end result. I am always attending training sessions and seminars to gain new ideas and methods. I want my students to learn as much as possible while they are with me. I love the energy that high school students can possess when they are excited. I want to use that energy to spark their minds. I always try to remember that each one of my students is someone’s very special child. Thank you for letting me teach yours.

Personal Statement:

I am a mother, a wife, and a teacher. Sometimes I feel like a juggling act! I have two wonderful children. My older daughter is a senior at CHHS, and my younger daughter is 6 years old and a first grader at Dove Elementary. They are both true sources of joy and happiness. My husband works for Nationwide Insurance and is an amateur bicycle racer. When we aren’t traveling to bike races, I love to cook and put puzzles together. Our life-long dream is to eat our way across Italy!!
