Background:

I began my teaching career in the Birdville ISD in 1989. My first teaching job was at Watauga Middle School, where I taught physical education for three years and coached all female sports at the junior high level.  In 1992, I went to Richland High School as the girls basketball varsity assistant coach where I served for three years. I then moved to the Keller ISD in 1995 where I had the opportunity to be a member of the founding faculty of Fossil Ridge High School. I spent seven years as the Head Girls Basketball Coach and in 2002 my team made the state playoffs.

I am now entering my eighteenth year in education and my fifth year at Colleyville Heritage serving as a health/physical education teacher and the Head Girls Basketball Coach. Our Lady Panther Basketball program has made the state playoffs the last three seasons, and has sent three young ladies to college on basketball scholarships. The 2004-2005 varsity team broke several school records with an overall season record of 29-8. The Lady Panthers were the Bi-District Champions, the Area Champions, and the Region I Quarterfinals Finalist.

Teaching Philosophy:

My goal is to help each student achieve his or her maximum potential. I want them to learn the required curriculum as well as to obtain healthy, lifelong skills that will help them become productive citizens.

Personal Statement:

I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas.  After attending college in Abilene, I moved to North Richland Hills where I began my teaching and coaching career. For the past 13 summers, I have coached summer basketball and have had the privilege of winning two AAU National Championships in 1996 and 1998 and three BCI National Championships in 1997, 1998 and 2005.  I am married to Dr. Dave Sager, who is the Family Minister at Turnpike Church of Christ in Grand Prairie, Texas. Dave and I are very committed to our church and we enjoy being involved in several miniseries and activities at Turnpike. I also enjoy movies, sporting events, traveling, and spending time with my family.
