Background:

My teaching experience includes:
  • Spanish I and II at Ft. Worth’s Paschal High School for two years
  • Conversational English in Alicante, Spain for 1 year
  • Spanish II, Spanish III, Spanish III PAP, Spanish IV PAP, Spanish V AP and Spanish for Native Speakers here at Colleyville Heritage

Teaching Philosophy:

It is my desire that a classroom environment that effectively challenges students' capabilities to learn while appealing to their sense of entertainment most directly enhances their desire to learn.  I constantly strive to create activities and combine these two aspects so that Spanish is a class that my students look forward to attending.  Also, I truly enjoy my job and spending my days with today's young adults.  By conveying that attitude to my students, an environment of interest and caring is created that I believe fosters mutual respect, thereby heightening every student's capacity to succeed.
 

Personal Statement:

As I start my 8th year at CHHS, I am very excited to be teaching classes that I have previously taught-- Spanish III PAP (5 previous years) and Spanish IV PAP (2 previous year) and Spanish V (1 previous year). This means I have a better grip on how to teach certain grammar concepts, and for my students, that means a smoother learning process! This prior experience also allows me to apply all of these higher-level communication skills that I’ve been very anxious to convey during my teaching career and push my students to achieve their very best. I am so enthusiastic and excited about the opportunity to teach these courses! In my personal life, you can find me In my personal life, you can find me globetrotting through Spanish speaking countries, taking late night and early morning walks with my dog, Pablo, and devouring any books I can get my hands on.
