| Background: | This is my first year at Colleyville Heritage and my second year to teach Biology. Prior to coming to CHHS I was an Athletic Trainer and Biology teacher at Denton High School. My experience as an Athletic Trainer also includes a year long internship at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. |
| Educational Philosophy: | I believe all children can learn. It is my responsibility as an educator to produce a safe,
challenging and enjoyable environment so that every student may achieve his/her maximum
learning potential. Just as each teacher has a different teaching style, so each student has a
different learning style. It is important to remember that there are no “cookie-cutter”
students. It is my responsibility to adapt to the needs and interest of my students while
providing an organized and well-managed classroom.
It is my goal an as athletic trainer to assist student-athletes in attaining the benefits of sports participation with in a medically safe environment. Athletic Trainers play an important role in the over all well-being of each student athlete. I strive to develop trusting relationships with student-athletes, their parents, and the medical community in order to provide the best possible care. Most injuries that occur in athletics are relatively minor in nature; however, serious life threatening injuries may arise at any time. It is my responsibility to be prepared to manage each situation so as to minimize the risk to each participant. Athletic participation equips students with life-long skills for success, and I will strive to ensure that each student-athlete is able to develop these skills in a safe, healthy environment.
