General scholarships are open to all students who meet the qualifications.  Scholarship applications are available in the counseling office.  Some scholarships are available via the web address.

  Camp Cowboy Students who will be attending Oklahoma State University in fall 08. Register online at www.campcowboy.okstate.edu.
  TCU High School Investor Challenge One week summer camp that teaches students the techniques of stock investing and portfolio management. Open to current juniors. Download an application at www.cfs.tcu.edu.
  Northwestern University Program for Young scholars. ADVANCE offers a challenging and rewarding curriculum for 9-11th graders for three weeks during the summer-June 8-28. Based on SAT, PSAT, ACT or PLAN scores. For more information go to www.advanceprogram.org
05/01/08 Summer Institute for the Gifted Provides academically advanced students with an interesting and challenging educational experience. Programs offered at various universities in the US. Applications and information can be found at www.giftedstudy.com
  Windsor Mountain International Summer camps and student travel that emphasizes service learning, leadership, language, culture and adventure. Information can be found at www.WindsorMountain.org
  Texas State University Texas State Honors Summer Math Camp-June 22-August 2, 2008. Applications can be found at www.txstate.edu/mathworks
  Baylor University Renaissance Scholar Program A week long journey of intellectual discovery for high achieving juniors. Gain college-life experience, study with the best faculty and earn one hour of college credit. More information available at www.baylor.edu/renaissancescholar.

05/01/08 Penrose Scholarship For Hispanic students. Based on need. Applications can be found in the counseling office. Up to $3,000 per school year.
05/01/08 Northeast Tarrant County Right to life For high school female seniors who already have a child or are pregnant. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office. $1,000.
05/01/08 Colleyville Heritage Theater Boosters Member of the CHHS Theater Booster Club for one year. Appeared on the CHHS main stage, or crew for two productions, or have been an active member of the oral interpretation team an participated in at least 4 official tournaments. Applications can be found in the counseling office. 5-$500 each
05/02/08 Jim Williams Memorial Scholarship Preference will be given to GCISD seniors who will be pursuing a degree in education. Applications can be found in the counseling office. 2-$250
05/02/08 Gaylord Entertainment Scholarship Preference will be given to GCISD seniors who will be pursuing a career in hospitality or entertainment. Applications can be found in the counseling office. 1-$2,500
05/02/08 CHHS for Excellence and Versatility Open to CHHS seniors. Selection criteria include academic achievement, SAT, ACT, participation in school, civic activities, essays and possible interview. Applications can be found in the counseling office. 1-$3,000
05/02/08 Grapevine Masons Open to all seniors. Applications can be found in the counseling office. $1,500
05/02/08 Premier Service Scholarship
The GCISD Education Foundation’s Premier Service Scholarship recognizes and awards outstanding graduating seniors who have demonstrated servant leadership through volunteerism in their community. $1,000
05/02/08 American Small Business Scholarship This scholarship is open to all GCISD high school seniors who will attend college. Preference will be given to a student who of parents or grandparents who own small businesses. $500
05/06/08 TILF Scholarship Scholarships available to seniors who have competed in one of the UIL Academic State Contests. Applications can be found at www.uil.utexas.edu/tilf/ Amounts vary from $8,000-$500.
05/08/08 CSA Soccer Scholarship Applicants must have played recreational soccer in the Colleyville Soccer Association as a regular rostered player and/or participated as a referee in CSA for a total of 4 seasons. Applications can be found in the counseling office. 4-$500 scholarships 2 male, 2 female
05/16/08 ATPE Future Educators Scholarships available for students who will pursue a career in an educational related field. Applications can be found in the counseling office.  
06/15/08 Texas E. Schramm Freshman Scholarship This scholarship aims to reward senior men who are entering their freshman year at the University of Texas. Applications can be found in the counseling office. 1-$1,000 4-$250 each
06/15/08 Jim Wright Scholarship Sponsored by the Mid-Cities Democrats. Applicants must be attending Tarrant County College NE Campus. Applications can be found in the counseling office. $750
07/01/08 TCCD Stars of Tomorrow Program Graduates in Tarrant County who are in the top ˝ of their .class and will attend Tarrant County College. click here  for more information. Up to $4,000.
07/02/08 American Council of the Blind Documentation of legal blindness, Texas resident, 3.0 GPA, Acceptance for admission or current enrollment at a college or vocational school. Applications can be found in the counseling office.

Texas Exemption Programs

Exemptions are programs that allow public colleges and universities to lower tuition for eligible students.  Texas has exemption programs for some students who:
  • Were in foster care
  • Were adopted
  • Were valedictorians
  • Are blind
  • Are deaf
  • Were early high school graduates
  • Are children of disabled or deceased peace officers
  • Are children of POWS or MIAs
  • Are children of deceased veterans
  • Are children of parents receiving TANF benefits
  • Are children of deceased public servants
