Student Code of Conduct

School expectations have been developed to encourage respect for self, others and our environment.

DRESS CODE
Clothing is generally acceptable for school as long as it does not jeopardize anyone's health or safety, does not disrupt the teaching / learning process, does not create school disorder and is not immodest in any respect. 

The administration has the final decision on determining appropriateness and has the right to request the student change attire.

Students CANNOT Wear the following

Hats, caps, headbands, bandannas, sunglasses or other head coverings and distracting accessories;
Clothing that displays risqué prints or symbols; gang graffiti or monikers; or lewd, vulgar, obscene or suggestive language/design
Clothes / accessories with advertisements or symbols that promote or depict drugs, alcohol, tobacco products or violence
Pentagrams, skulls, inverted crosses or serpents on shirts, jewelry or hats;
Chains, trench coats and dusters;
Clothes that are of a sexually suggestive nature or offensive language or offensive symbols or pictures;
Clothes that are revealing:  shirts tied at the waist, shirts that expose the midriff (shirts must COMPLETELY cover the midriff at all times), halter tops, spaghetti straps, "Holey" tops, fishnet tops, tank tops, strapless or off-the-shoulder blouses or dresses, spandex or cut off t-shirts;
Skirts must be fingertip length when shoulders are relaxed;
Gang attire;
Dyed hair that is not of a natural color.  Hair that is spiked, liberty, unicorn or Mohawk styles;
Pants that are excessively baggy.  This means that pants need to cover one's underwear and 'stay up.'

ELECTRONICS

Cell phones are never to be visible, used or heard between the hours of 8:30 and 3:35;
CD players, MP3 players, radios, pagers or any other type of electronic devices are not to be used or seen from 8:30 to 3:35.  You are not to wear your headphones around your neck or have your player or earpiece visible.
All electronics that are taken and delivered to an administrator will only be returned to your parent or guardian;
CHHS is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged electronics.  If you choose to bring something to school, you are responsible for it.
